Hey people, she wasn't always a contemplative hermit; she taught for about twenty years in schools and a college --- and the non-contemplative Nuns also do work, as part of their vocation -------------- she did teaching, translating and then, after ill-health, art writing. Making presumptions about someone else's life misses that beyond the generality of 'life' is the specificity of how we, as full individuals, must live. Surely having a calling, secular or not, is life.
I think he asked some very skeptic questions, and she answered very kindly and patiently. It's wonderful how much she loves art and how much she wants others to want to learn about art. She's absolutely wonderful!

how does one not "respect" art, you don't have to like it or buy it, but not "respecting" it that is just bizarre.
