It seems that many like to hate Diana for the simple fact, they never liked her voice, even when it was uh umm, Supreme. To many, it just sounded like high pitched screech and nothing else. It's too bad, they couldn't hear the other wonderful qualities her voice had, the lilt, distinctive sound, piano like tone, accurate pitch, incredible phrasing, incredible articulation and emotive feel

@ivyfield Absolutely Steve, I wonder if you know when and where Mary will next be performing as i would move heaven and earth to see her again! As I did for Martha Reeves....... I still have all the newsletters and memorabilia I believe you produced.....(?)

I Love Ms Ross but after she left the group It was Mary Wilson who kept the name Supremes alive, Thanks Ms Wilson for all your hard work. you really picked the best of the best to keep the Supremes going to the end

This Line Up was without a Doubt, THE BEST ONE! (Vocally) But who Cares about a Quality Show, when one can get Publicity Crying, Whining & Slandering on TV instead

Sherie and Linda are very sweet and really Ladies!!!!!

@idaslpdhr It's well documented now that Motown staff writer JANIE BRADFOR thought up a bunch of new names for the Primettes (because The Primettes was, basically a shit name for a group) and it was Janie who thought of and put the name Supremes into the 'lucky dip' box. Flo was the one who went through all the suggestions and said - Yep, that's the name and that's how it really happened,,,

All three of those women can sing circles around Diana.

@BlogShag Florence's voice may not have been mainstream BUT that is not the point. Florence was heartbroken towards the end when Berry and Diana ganged up on her. She was only a size 12 yet Berry called her fat. Completely unfair. That's bullying. Next to Scrawny Ross, anyone would look fat.
Berry should've allowed Mary and Florence to do lead now and again but instead they never had that chance and it's disguisting. Poor Flo died of a broken heart.
Now shut the fuck up.

I'm not surprised BlogShag closed his account. He's probably now in a room with padded walls and a straight jacket on.
I think that's the best place for him really. He loved to hate on Florence. Fact is, Florence and Diana were the two greatest singers of The Supremes. Jean, Diana, Florence and Susaye should have formed a group called "The Divas"
Bit of a random comment? Yes.

@broke2471 It's so odd how people like to pick fights on here over issues they had nothing to do with, control or cannot change. You would think these people were in the group. Just stay above all the negativity. I just saw Diana and she payed a tremendous well deserve tribute to Mary and Flo. Mary is right. She said that Diana and her shared too much to ever hate each other. They are sisters in their own right. And it was quite evident Monday night at the concert.

@idaslpdhr Flo liked the name that was why she chose it from the list given to her. Mary and especially Diana weren't too fond of the name at first.
Sherie and Lynda love Diane and it's obvious in the show, I saw it. Besides Diane was and always will be the consumate STAR, she was day one and had the voice that was distinctive enough to stay in everyone's head for nearly five decades... duh reality check here! Diana Ross is what Guiness Book of Records and Billboard called her, "the entertainer of the century," "the most successful female entertainer of all time!" It's no surprise she's fantastic and always will be. People love to hate that.

I applaud your comments. Scherrie & Lynda do love Diana and make it very clear in their stageshow that without her, the Supremes wouldn't have been the biggest girl group in the history of popular music. That said, I'm not a big Diana fan but you hit the nail right on the head. On behalf of my good friends Scherrie & Lynda, thank you.
Stoned love, Steve Weaver.
