@catalyst6676 you have to remember, if one of these guys was swinging at a normal guy in street at that speed the other fellow wouldn't know what was happening lol

In Philippines we usually don't use of Protection gear ....
Try to watch "Human Weapon Eskrima Fight - maurikw"

@HKSilat and xiaolaoshu520 Please don't judge Eskrima based on this video, it's a bad representation of this art. Most competitors (of high skill) will not just batter each other, they will use distance, tricks, traps and other defensive and offensive techniques to win. Many people fight the way they do in this video because they have not done any limited armor comps (only helm and gloves). Comps are usually just a side line thing too, the art itself doesn't resemble this in the slightest.

Respect people. You no shit about the heritage and figting techinques. They do have demonstrations and they showed a very faced paced and unpadded fight in an episode of human weapons. Look it up and then complain about it.

lol what a bullshit kind of useless arts. not even should be called an art just pure bullshit.

Fake.

@HKSilat agree with you.. they just whipping each other fast

I don't see any blocks... And you're too close to each other... I do admire the speed though... Then again, no power... I'm into arnis btw..
-
do either of these people know how to use eskrimas???
-
@thatoneguyagain Speaking of long distance: Why does nobody in this video actually use the distance? It looks like you're much too close for people wielding 2foot long weapons. I've only taken a couple of escrima lessons so far, we use heavily padded sticks but no body gear (except for cups) for the sparring. As a result, "avoiding to get hit" seems to have a MUCH higher priority than it has with you guys.

Wow really fast..O.O

anong rule po ang gamit dito?

Laughing at the reply. I meant it in jest, but I guess you're too predisposed to argument. Touche then to you. Also, I find your suggested website to be of some value. May they continue training in & for peace. On a lighter point, my elders made it an issue of eating one's slain enemies. But then again, my uncle likes to eat rats for some reason, another used to put slugs in his spinach. I've never gone that far though. Touche. Cheerio to you in the Spirit of Martial Art.

dogbrothers dot c o m, no 3w(s) check it out before you type
real martial artist any real martial artist would respect
Where the hell is there not a taboo on canibalism and there are computers?
and being a canibal does not make you a martial artist, a warrior or anything but a canibal ... also what place has computers and canibals? As a filipino american I have ancestors who where canibals but when there is no shortage of food there is no reason for it

With respects,
I will now forgive YOUR willful ignorance. Where I'm from the elders taught the young ones to never back down. You fight until you win. Your death is a good reason for village revenge. Nor did I say that the people who train consistently are not Martial Combatants. Artist depends on the individual. Pay them a visit some time. I'm sure you'll taste good after being baked. I can already smell you cooking. The West may frown on cannibalism but, oh well...

@AintNoSuperiorStyle I do not forgive willing ignorance. I said look up the dog brothers you obviously did not by your comment which shows no respect because you typed before you knew what you where typing about. Serious martial arts? You think the people taining day in day out are not serious martial artists!? They're people all over the world in back water schools, muay thai rings, and octagons who would no doubt stomp you and they haven’t killed anyone. I tried to post links but could not.

With respects,
Forgive my ignorance but they must be running short on students since the students must end up murdered or permanently paralyzed. Serious MARTIAL Arts teach you HOW to KILL. Not give the adversary a massage. FULL contact weapons? I think not. Unless of course there are decapitated bodies, severed limbs etc littering the training area. A sword is not drawn in combat unless to draw blood. It is a weapon. Weapons are made to decapitate or incapacitate, to KILL.

Look up the dog brothers out of California and say that. Most MA maybe soft compared to when they were used to kill and prevent being killed but the real deal is still out there in the USA and in the countries of origin.
(FULL CONTACT WEAPONS TRAINING MINIMUM PADDING ONLY GLOVES AND HEAD GEAR).

THAT. LOOKED. MINT. Lol!! I know very little about the sport/art (More into K1/Muay Thai) but really enjoyed your video.
The speed was amazing, heard some good sounding strikes and your conditioning must be very good. Imaine some idiot trying to glass you on a night out lol, that'd be a mistake.
Keep up the good work.

You will forgive then my misinterpretation of your previous comment. I also agree with you. As you may have already deduced from my name, I am of the viewpoint that there is only superior skill. It is not the system one trains in nor one's personal flair (style) that ultimately decides the outcome of a confrontation. It is the level of skill mastery.
-
@AintNoSuperiorStyle I agree with you 100%. I wasnt saying fighting is pad. What I was saying was an observation of this tournament. It seems that a better tournament would be with very limited padding so people would feel pain. I dont see any technique to these types of tournaments people just rush each other and smack repeatedly with no skills and everyone gets hit. You cant really tell who wins. When you train eskrima you never fight this way, but when they put on the pads they do.
Eskrima seems like a cool style, but with all that padding the sparring doesn't resemble anything like a real fight- you guys are able to just wreck each other nonstop with speed

The idea of sparring is to build speed, power, endurance and resistance. It also helps you find openings in your opponents that you wouldn't be able to see if you practiced slowly. Sparring is only a small part of Eskrima. We have techniques that can range from long distance fighting to close range combat with and without weapons. You should check it out if you are really interested.
