Does that engine have a real steam whistle, I noticed more steam come out when it blew?

Yes, it is a real steam whistle. The whistle is a Weltyk, two-chime, frame mounted resonator with a radio controlled valve. When blown, it emits steam underneath the boiler between the side frames.
