If you want to make sure people don't tailgate you on the freeway then just bolt a Rolls Royce jet engine into the back of your pick-up, or as we call them here in Australia, ute.

Not only will the people behind be too scared to tailgate you, if you hit the afterburner they won't be able to catch you either. Jet Engine FTW!
