Here's the original Aussie Milky Bar Kid - Grant Seiden, circa 1968. He later popped up in the kid's drama series "The Rovers", and has since fallen on hard times...

After he went to "The Rovers", Michael McGlinchey took over the role.

I looked this up because of Dara O'Brien at the Theatre Royal

Thats looks so old but I decided to look this up because the milky bar kid was on Dara O'Brian live at the theater thingy and he said the milky bars on me o that Dara O'brian one of the funniest Irish comedians ever besides Graham Norton

this is great, in 68 we would always buy a milky bar with the money we made cashing in old coke,leed,and fanta bottles we could muster up on our bikes on weekends and any other time we saw them laying arround the ground,it was a must do back then and boy did we feel so so happy when we hit pay dirt(a stack of bottles, great times that was,and still eating milky bars today,great post mate!!

Thanks for posting this old ad! It was a huge hit when we were kids. I even think one of my school chums was in it.

For years we all said "The Milky Bars are on ME!" as a common expression of largesse.
