Burton Richardson demonstrates the 1,2 series from Bruce Lee's Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do with instructor David Giomi. Five counters to the 1,2 (jab, cross) are shown slowly on the focus mitts, then at speed. This is a JKD method of training- work the JKD techniques, then perform them on the mitts. Then, of course, apply them in street-specific JKD sparring.
I was taught the 1,2 series by my mentor Sifu Dan Inosanto. This was shot for a DVD series of Sifu Larry Hartsell's Jun Fan JKD Grappling Association.

  • We train a similar thing except in stead of one kick we do technique plus three punches, Jik Tek, Oo Tek.

  • @RevDogo

Yes, this is just one variation. The end can be anything you like, including takedowns. Enjoy your training.

  • Sifu Richardson, is the Shoulder Stop a Jeet Sao?

And have you ever trained with Sifu Rick Tucci?

  • @XiaoLinLong Thanks for the questions- it can also be called a jeet da- stop hit- but most JKD people use the English terms. I trained Rick Tucci on many occasions in Princeton. Sifu Inosanto asked me to train him up to a level where he would be able to get the most out of Sifu Inosanto's teaching.

  • Hello Mr. Richardson,

I like your video a lot. Is there a release date for this DVD series?

  • @Santeria78 No release date yet. I will post a video when they are ready.

  • Nice. Very functional drills which is what JKD should be. You can see they would work in a combat situation. That's what I'd spend my training time on.

  • @kths48 Sorry for the delay, I didn't see your post. I have an association that has proven very effective. We have a number of instructors who teach children the JKDU methods, and they just love it. And, they become better, more disciplined kids. I will do seminars for children. You can send an email to me through the website for any further information. jkdunlimited com Enjoy your teaching!

  • @BurtonRichardson I didn't even know that you knew Mr. Tucci,Burton! Great job!!

  • @BurtonRichardson: Thank you! Keep up the good JKD work. Greetings from Germany.
