  • Those are pretty fancy cut-away visors. Wish they were still used.

  • The clear light at the bottom of the signal was designed to illuminate the center of the intersection. If the signal failed, the light would be turned on and a police officer would stand beneath it, making him more visible. The officer would direct traffic until the signal could be repaired.
