The flag represent the South of the United States right? I know, it also brings memories from the war and slavery, but hes probably not racist or anything, he's just proud to live in the south. And bands like Pantera and Lynyrd Skynyrd use the Confederate Flag on the background of their concerts, and i don't think think that this makes them racists.
