"That was when I ruled the world" is just a reprising line that sounds good. It restates that he no longer is glorious, and will die soon. That was when Napoleon was in exile. Even if they are British that doesen't mean they don't have to write a song about Napoleon. I'm Russian and I respect Napoleon alot in fact hes kind of like my idol. He came from an minor noble family and ended up as an emperor. I think you should research a little more.

@manmadeSniper4 Why is it clearly not? its the most important part of British history. They are British. Look it up I think you'll find it is about the British Empire. I think they made it universal on purpose though. It made people talk about it more I guess/open to interpretation.
