The clip's from a UK BBC show called Top Of The Pops Two (TOTP2) - used to be a regular series of old videos (mix of promos and archive Top Of The Pops performances) & the occasional new song aimed at older audiences. Now it's only on occasionally, sometimes a short series and/or themed special but there's usually a special showing Christmas songs and UK hits from around the period shown around Christmas day - they've repeated this clip at least a couple of times.

Reverend W Awdry was the real creator of Thomas etc. Britt Allcroft created the tv series' & the original, original Thomas the Tank Engine series didn't have a real life conductor, just the US re-edit.

Ringo did the original voice over on the first series or so (80s) of the original British version of Thomas & friends & (apparently - haven't seen it myself) played the conductor in the US version that combined it with Shiningtime Station. Word is he only did for the money as he was an alcoholic at the time.

This guy and George Carlin made my childhood. But what sexy musical vocals he has! I wonder what would've happened if he kept it up and John, Paul or George did TtTE instead — you know, instead of dying or becoming a poor corporate whore or whatever.

The very under-rated Beatle. He was the goofy looking one , but never got the public contributions to the band. Sad.
