Great Folk Tune. It wasn't a smash hit when it came out but it grew over the years. It is now considered classic. It hit #35 in 1962 when it was released. This clip is from a PBS special Folk Rewind.

  • It's my fav song from my father's cassette. I love to hear the music and the harmony.

However, I'm wondering why that kind of love story is connected to lemon tree?

  • @weepalone I bet myself that at least ONE person would make a Curt Lemon comment...

  • I listened to the song when I was in college. That was 20 years ago. Now, it still hits my heart when I listen to it. A beautiful song forever....

  • Weren't they just divine and Mary so pretty. Where have all the flowers and years gone?

  • wow - how lovely. never heard this until now.

  • Lol, give that talented coloured man some credit, playing those sweet riffs on the bass

  • @prmarsh Indeed, it isn't. It's jazz bassist Edgar DeHaas.
