Loyalists dont like to be reminded that their forefathers surrendered three counties of Ulster so they made up a song blaming Englishmen.
As far back as the 23th June 1914 a British government bill was ammended by the House of Lords to allow the whole nine counties of Ulster to be excluded from th rest of Ireland.
The reason why three counties of Ulster were sold away is that anti-Catholic unionists decided to fix the border using gerrymandering so the sectarian state 'Northern Ireland' would have a large Protestant majority.
Even today some unionists are not happy with the shape of 'Northern Ireland'. Ulster Unionist John Taylor said - ''South Armagh is not really a part of the United Kingdom. What a pity the Boundary Comission report was not enacted. We'd have lost Crossmaglen and Cullyhanna in return for somewhere nice like Letterkenny''.

Tyrone and Fermanagh should have been exluded also (well they all should have been united, but those 2 esspecially). Exept the brits relised this would mean they couldn't make a profit so Gerrymendered them into the NI statlet.

The video makes some good points, however I think the fact that the 3 counties that were left out of the new Northern Ireland were let go by the Loyalist people and those who signed the covenant because they were overwhelmingly Nationalist.
Yes they made up part of Ulster but I think it was accepted by most Unionists then and still is today that it would have been pointless forcing these 3 counties to remain within the Union against the huge majorities wishes.

There is room in Ireland for Partition, good partition and lots of it.
Eamon Devalera.
Source; Big fellow, long fellow. By T. Ryle Dwyer. Published by Gill and Macmillan.
Carson actually campaigned tirelessly against partition, the only Irish MP to lobby the House of parliment. Having resigned himself to the fact that he couldn't succeed in this, Unionism realised that only 6 counties could be saved as a sanctury for non-Catholics. How NI was then governed I do not condone.

@kalimcc100 Because we believe in what it's supposed to stand for, even if those in representation don't.

@kalimcc100 Listen to the words? Do you learn your history from the words of Loyalist songs? Watch 1:53 onwards and learn something new. Read the 1916 proclamation - The Republic guarantees religious and civil liberty, equal rights and equal opportunities to all its citizens. Republicans even put the colour orange for our national flag. Can you name another nations flag that has Orangeism reflected on it?

@fishsama999 fair point... unionist have been shafted... I even read once that Churchhill offered a united Ireland if Dublin wound send troops (WW2), but wouldn't stick, and anyway dublin couldn't afford the north.. still can't! F**k even the Westminster can't afford this place.... why .. too many lazy scum bags.. (on both sides now) sponging instead of working... Why do we still fight for queen and country... ? why do you fight for a republic?... answer that and ... ta da

honestly.. its typical of republicans and nationalist narrow minded sad bitter plonkers! you's only read history books etc written by republicans and like minded people... and as if that isn't bad enough, you then twist it just to make it more appealing for your own gain... Now note I do not say Catholics... reason because I believe religion is a different argument, and frankly should be respected no matter what religious view one has. But as far as political... republicans, SORT IT OUT!
