In the seventh season finale, Eric resorts to tricks in order to reunite Chandler with his dying father. Elswhere, Matt and Sarah appear to have some exciting news, while Mary shares a big secret with Lucy. Simon is turned down by a potential prom date. Ruthie has gotten her period for the first time and is embarrassed to talk about it, but the family sees it as a cause for public celebration. Finally, Kevin notices something odd about the Camdens' new houseguest, and when an unexpected visitor shows up at the door, it promises life-changing events for the entire family.

I told my dad before my mom. I got it 24 hours before telling either of them but was afraid it wasn't my period - and that the red on my underwear was fault and a result of stupidly swallowing a gel pan cap whole lmao - and if it wasn't I was much more afraid of what my mom's reaction would be than my dad's. I've always been way more comfortable around my dad, even about things like my period. I waited til visiting my dad for the weekend, miles away from my mom, before showing him my underwear.

It's not that big of a deal, the family overreacts. I'm with Ruthie - it shouldn't be. I didn't want to get my period and I got it at 10 I was unhappy about it and certainly didn't celebrate.

I remember being totally freaked out by that ending. Nobody really knew what had happened or anything. I was thinking that someone, one of the regular cast members, probably died in a car accident or something. So scary to watch, and then to have to wait an entire summer to see what happened... I thought I'd go mad.
