Missing White Women Syndrome: Media's Oversaturation of "Sensational" Missing People Stories!

Why they cover stories like this: Ratings!

What inspires the MWWS: When mainstream media wants to continue missing pretty white girls and women stories. Those who peddle in this include Headline News anchor Nancy Grace, Fox News anchors Greta Van Susteren, Geraldo Rivera, and Megyn Kelly.

Why? Cause the media has advanced in "positive discrimination". Mainstream media rarely covers missing white men, non-white women, minorities, lower class children, those in the GLBT and disabled.

Anyone notices the over saturation of coverage of Caylee Anthony and her mother Cassie in the news?

If you are like the millions of viewers of the cable news and three broadcasts, you will be reminded once again why the media has a desire to drive this family into the depth of ridicule, assumption of guilt and rally people to push stricter laws.

Well I hope that those who are aware of the mainstream media's coverage of this young mother and her missing daughter has gotten out of hand. Please inform the networks:

He is right you never see missing men, blacks, mexicans, or other races. The media is only obsessed with white women. If Tiger Woods would have cheated with black women, it would not have been covered. Period. Or if his wife was Black the media would not have cared too much.

The Caylee Anthony story is a big example of Missing White (or Pretty) Woman Syndrome. I was researching the topic today and what I found made me very angry. I found cases of minority women that were similar to higher profile cases of white women.Ex.: Laci Peterson and LaToyia Figueroa and the case of Mya Lyons. The case is so similar to Caylee Anthony, Mya was even murdered the SAME YEAR- 2008. Guess who is still in the media after 3 years & who faded into obscurity.

Innocent until proven guilty became guilty despite proven innocent. Amazing how everyone knows all the facts in this case like they were there and they found the only 12 people on the planet who thought Casey might deserve a trial first. And they say justice wasn't done because they don't agree with the verdict, like justice is dependent on their opinion. smh

@LILVOKA Well, fact is alot of it derives from the whole white slavery/ we have to maintain white womyn's purity from the darkened hordes bit, hence the focus on them since it is believed pretty white womyn or helpless and attractive and need someone to save them from the darkened hordes of men while black womyn have always been seen in a masculine light and men are deemed as supposed to be taking care of themselves.
