Sam Itskovitch, an application engineer with Dassault Systèmes, demonstrates how new NVIDIA Maximus technology allows users to interact with their renderings while simultaneously running other applications - without bogging down your system.

  • computer specs?

  • @Patan77xD The specs of the computer at a high level are: dual processor workstation with a Quadro 6000 and a Tesla C2075. It is the same one used for the benhmarks published on the NVIDIA Maximus main page (nvidia. com/ maximus). The notes section has all the system spec details.

  • Umm no, that would not take days to render. A car with one hdri will take hours at best but even then on fairly high resolutions.

@DonKaranIsBack how will it make people lazier?

  • @2dFXman As you suggest, rendering times can very a great deal. The resulting times are dependent on the size of the dataset, the resolution of the image or movies (as you note), the level of recursion or ray bounces allowed, or if global illumination is used.

There can often be design reviews or downstream use of images and movies that are done at high resolutions and quality settings, over night, especially to ensure accuracy with the way light interacts in headlights and taillights.

  • @2dFXman But even hours are too long in product development. With iRay enabled applications, like CATIA V6, powered by an NVIDIA Maximus workstation, the photo-realistic raytracing is interactive, allowing you to instantly see how an image is turning out, even continuing to refine the design while the rendering is actively updating, and allowing the image to resolve to a final render in mere minutes or even seconds.

  • hey nvidia i need to run catia on a laptop. will a gt 520m be sufficient or should i go for a gt 525m/540/

  • @QBisbest It would be completely unplayable at 0.1 frames per second, have fun.

  • Quadrooooooooooooo..... Luv this Card....

  • @QBisbest iCEnhancer is pretty close.

  • I wanna press Thumb up Several times for the so good answears. Of course we want to be able to build and change our design with as good as possible graphics. This should be used in Architecture softwares.

  • If GTA had these graphics..

  • dem ears...

  • hey nvidia why dont you make your own games for pc :D

    pc exclusive :D

  • I don't see anything special in this. I get this kind of performance at work using Opticore Realizer on a dual Xeon W5580. Much better shadres, better environments...not sure what's so spectacular here.

  • @nvidia Thank's for answering I have a 24 thread computer and is going to upgrade my graphics power . So its possible to have both Tesla card and Quadro card in the same computer but not Geforce and Quadro?
