The Poor People's March of 1968 started the decline of the mall. The turf never recovered. Along with that many vendors have been allowed to set up shop along it and various organizations have been allowed to abuse it in different ways. I've seen teams playing rugby on it.

Just make sure people stay off the grass or there's nothing you can do to stop it from turning into dirt.
Charge admission to the park to pay for some minor upkeep.

with the help of Hollywood, why can't we the people take care of our own yard?
not through tax dollars, and such, let that go on to fix things like education and border security, tougher laws on big business .. enforcement of current laws, all that .. but have Hollywood actors, and American Musicians step up, with producers, film makers TV types
maybe even professional sports can get involved. Pot all that energy and resources behind a great cause like this.

Just got back from there, I didn't even notice all the crap that these people are whining about... The grass and the sidewalks were fine, and the whole town was so clean it blew my mind, definitely cleaner than Johnson City TN where I live (and where it's 90% white by the way, for the racist morons)
