  • There's a problem with this video, performance, and casting: Beverly Sills as Rosina. Look at her. LOOK AT HER. She is so adorable and charming that there is *no goddamn way* Figaro wouldn't fall in love with her himself.

In order for this performance to be believable, it needs to end in a three-way battle royale while Beverly Sills bounces around and smiles happily at everybody. Then she runs away with me, because I love her.

  • She is great

  • Alan Titus is fantastic here. And Sills *sounds* good, but the ornamentation is wacky.

  • @candidnt Lol you just made my day :)

  • alan was a little flat on that last note

  • No one, and this year, he sings the Sachs in Bayreuth and I found it was really great.

  • This is hands-down my favourite opera performance ever. I wish it was on DVD so bad.

  • Not yet, this is the first part of the trilogy. Also Rosina isnt a contesse yet...And thats why Bartolo seeks revenge on Figaro...Anyway wikipedia it. Or better yet read the Beaumarchais plays

  • wait, isn't Figaro married?

  • LOL :-)

  • I seriously got a kick out of this comment....Very true!!
