Leslie Howards is FANTASTIC as the scarlet pimpernel...however, i dont think i liked Merle Oberon's acting!!

@oophelia46 I think you may be giving him too much credit. I haven't seen the film in a while; but, if my memory serves me correctly, someone else mispronounces Zounds. I assumed it was incompetence. Sorry, I do not share your appraisal of Leslie Howard.

@tigranvartanovitch That's the thing, Percy pretends to be a complete fool in the presence of royalty so his secret identity is not suspected. Leslie Howard is an excellent actor, I enjoy his work

"Zounds!" rhymes with sounds. What kind of an actor is Leslie Howard? It's pronounced Zoonds, being a contraction of God's Wounds. Zounds! What utter incompetence.
