  • @pjkeeve MF88 has got steerable axles instead of bogies, that are on other MFs.

But these special axles cost too much money, more than expected; bogies are used in MF 2000. Additionally, MF 88 got reliability problems.

That's why removing this rolling stock became prior, and MF 88 would be replaced by MF 67 from line 2. But in 2011, they put down this idea.

At the moment MF 88 can't go faster than 40kmph (about 25mph), Louis Blanc's loop isn't used...

  • @aeronuk1 You're looking at 3bis and 7bis. Those "bis" modifiers are just that, they're secondary lines that really don't see much traffic. So yeah, the stations look crummier.

  • The Paris Metro looks so dull and boring!

  • Thank you for introducing this very interesting pair of short lines - I actually rode the 7bis during my second trip to Paris (May '08) and was fascinated by the fact that it is a "one-direction" line in revenue service. Something you cannot find on any subway network in Japan. And equally fascinated by the fact that they use very modern, inverter-equipped cars on such a short line - from Yokohama, Japan
