3801, our icon of steam is being hauled by 4520 Diesel to her new home for major work to be carried out. A new boiler is needed for the locomotive as the one that has been used is too badly worn to be steamed again. This video shows the train slowly heading through Picton station NSW at 1136pm on the 12 May 2009. The video was taken by a good mate, and a fellow gunzel. I am across on the other platform........

  • That is a really sad video to watch. It is such a beautiful engine but to see it in that state is quite disturbing. :(

  • Clown watcher indeed. You have NO idea what you are talking about little boy. No RTM, no 3801. It really is as simple as that . Learn some history starting form say 1966. Then come back and apologise to the adults.

  • Correct, 3801 is in f**king bad shape. At least she has hit the mainline again

  • that is what i ment besides didn't RTM plan a special train for the event i think it was towed by 8111 and the special train of train buffs and i do have an education im only 15 for god sake

  • History records that it was the Hunter Valley Training Company that restored 3801 in the eraly 1980's, NOT the RTM. The 3801 wreck was towed from Thirlmere to the former State Dockyard in Newcastle NSW for this work with HVTC apprentices being supervised on this big job. With respect, get an education before posting such innacurate comments. How do I know? I was there. Cheers

  • how can you say "shame on rtm" they saved her from SCRAP in the first place 3801ltd never had to restor it because it was done in 1983 besides it needs to be done

jollygreen good job very commited to be at the station at mid night 5*

  • Not too shabby well done!
