@RestiveBob That's crap... I'm a shy guy and always preferred the strong and assertive ones because they're the ones that pull me out of my shell and help me be myself and just feel comfortable. The true person if you will...Strong personalities are usually what shy people want because they want to be strong like that and look to others who can help them adapt. That's how it is for me anyway. The more extroverted, the better.
Although yes, web dating advice is mostly crap I agree..

i disagree with this, I'm a fairly shy person and i feel uncomfortable with quote on quote strong women because i feel like they're constantly forcing they're way thinking on me too much, id rather have girl where we can have an honest conversation instead of who's the dominating figure

This idiot's advice is ridiculous. Shy men are very often revolted by strong or assertive women and prefer similarly quiet and demure mates who don't bowl them over. If you want to make a shy man or woman come out of their shell, keep the environment and proceedings secure and nonthreatening. Once pleasantries are made and things move along, the true character of a shy person will emerge. Strong, outgoing personalities only promote insecurity in shy people.
