  • @LucidLEDs: If you Google "diy led matrix" you can find some tutorials I'm sure.

  • @LucidLEDs: It is a pretty simple hook up. I just had all the cathodes and anodes grouped together by their rows and columns. (i think I had anodes as my columns and cathodes as my rows). Then then I had each row and column hooked to a digital I/O on the Arduino.

  • hy... you put them in parallel or serie? (the led's) good job!! i'm ordering my arduine next tuesday :p can't wait to try this out but i don't even know how to make an 3x3 led matrix so .... :p did you used resistors or transistors?

  • @kcinkcinkcinnick I didn't use any resistors, just running straight off of the Arduino's digital I/O.

It's been awhile since I made this, but it's just a matter if hooking up the LEDs as either common cathode or common anode depending on the rows and columns. If you do some looking around online, you can find many tutorials on how to make a simple LED matrix like this one. :)

  • hey man good job, is this multiplexed? are you making these patterns manually with digitalwrite? or some higher level scheme?
