The 1989 Montreal Comedy Festival. For some reason, I decided to be a blonde for a while.

If you look carefully at my neck, you'll see that the harness which I use to carry the puppets is undone. Someone asked to take my picture right before I went on, and that distracted me, and I forgot to buckle the harness. For the entire peformance, the puppets could have fallen off of me.

  • Chris - you still in Vegas?

  • @jimmymac320 Yes.

  • Cool. I'm wondering though why you don't use something transparent for the rods at the front?

  • @stephanCurran This tape was shot VERY EARLY in my career... I was young and stupid... and for some reason, thought the poles should be white. Now they're all black, so even though thery're visible... the audience chooses not to see them.

There is nothing existing that would allow me to have clear poles. I looked into it... there's only acrylic tubes... and they shatter.

  • haha omg do I see skeeterrabbit?!

  • @Christopher89123

Not young and stupid, Christopher. This was brilliant! I remember seeing you on could have been the Late Show back in the eighties?? Anyway it's very clever and very funny.

  • So glad I found this on Youtube. I remember watching this when I was a kid.....good stuff.

  • just a question did you know the name of the black guy in a violet coat who impersonated michael jackson, bee gees and other artist, he also performed in just for laughs variety..

  • @pivotdj1 Well you have to think of the history. Firstly in the red faces skit it was genuine blackface. White people in makeup to look black which is the primary reason it is considered racist since it dates back to the blackface style of acting which created a great deal of negative black stereotypes. In this case it is a collection of dummies, not very high quality facades of black men with sunglasses and Jheri Curls. The lack of makeup, and the lack of humanity helps separate this.

  • Look! Gorillas!
