@Ricobeans27 i agree the wording is wrong. i think he is trying to portray that in the world we are not to shun a non believer as if we are better than them. we are to be salt and light as jesus is. habitual sinners are not to be fellowship-ed with in the church. the process of correction is to be carried out in love and hopefully the person will repent. if not they should leave the body of christ as to not harm his members.

YOU CAN LISTEN TO THE ENTIRE MESSAGE ON MY CHANEL.. I AGREE WITH CHAN BASED ON MY BIBLICAL KNOWLEDGE AND REVELATION OF 1 COR 5. JESUS DIDN'T "HANG" WITH SINNERS HE DELIVERED THEM AND DECLARED THE TRUTH FOR THEIR DELIVERANCE.

...what is your doctorine? Jesus didn't "hang out" but Francis Chan is painting a picture of how we aren't doing what we are supposed to be doing as Christian. Do you remember what our purpose is? What our mission is? so Jesus didn't "hang out" but he was seeking and was among the alcoholics and the prostitutes.

Jesus didn't "hang out" with drunks and prostitutes as Francis states. He was invited by "sinners" and took up their offer. He preached repentance wherever he went. To say that Jesus "hung out" with such people gives the impression that Jesus was a partaker of their sins and needed their companionship, like buddies.
@Polaris, I didn't draw that impression from what Chan said.. I am sure he was referring to instances such as Matthew 9:9-13... surely he was not a partaker, and that is not the message here. the focus mostly here was based on 1 Cor 5... Take care..
