I guess that when you're a star, people expect you to have a glamourous life with a star for girlfriend...Plus when you play in MV, people often are a lot into it and think you should date the lead female...

Having a "normal" girlfriend makes you less "unaffordable" and breaks down a part of the myth, it doesn't reach your fan's expectations...(or I guess this is how managers see this matter)
