Why not?
-
people won't like organ music just because its fast. this rythm is terribly fast.
-
little bit too fast... and please... dot end in G-major... Its possible with the fugue at the end but not the prelude
-
its a great piece but i think the others are right it is a bit to fast. After all it is only a prelude.

You fly through the end of measures and beats--which may be what is leading people to comment that it sounds too fast. (I personally play it close to this tempo, though not with the romantic rubato).
The Picardy third is a bit much though for the ending... though formally acceptable by the period, it just sounds too strange without the minor cadence--especially if the fugue follows. (That's purely my opinion, though).

thank you very much, I think thousands of organists play it this tempo ( when no one is listening!)

The problem is not the tempo. The problem is your romantical way to play it.

there are real problems in the world e.g. wars, diseases, no clear water for over one billion human beings. i am so lucky to be able to play music just for fun and thats no problem at all
