Chalk 'n' Talk from http://businessenglishpod.com is a new series of video ESL lessons exploring advanced English grammar topics. The first lesson examines the use of perfect tenses in both the simple and continuous aspect - past, present and future forms. In grammatical terms, perfect tenses are used to refer to completed or finished events.

  • @carlosell They use auxiliary verbs.

  • I have a silly question: Why they are called present/past "perfect"? Where is the perfect feature?

  • Thanks, This is very important for All

  • @TheRmp1807 thanks

  • @askadetra If you're speaking about the past (which has finished) but TIME has NOT finished.

For example, "I have been to the gym this month ..." where your visit to the gym has finished but the week hasn't finished.

  • Thank you so much for your video.

  • I realy like him are teacher is not good at all.She can evet pronaunce english

  • I agree. Number 2 should be 'i have never eaten...' and ESL is english as a second language.

  • I'm pretty sure #2 should read: "I have never eaten pizza before I arrived."
