I rerecoreded this track as it was a very touching scene in the film THE PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE was a super cult film and its JUST just HOW THE MUSIC Business Really is...
Always wished that each group had done their own full versions of the song. Would have been interesting, but Paul Williams' unique voice gave this song its power.
I appreciate that you were inspired to do the cover at all, sure, it's not the Great Paul Williams, but my cover of Nirvana's "Lithium" is nothing close to the original either. If you never try, you'll never know if you might create something magical.
I have to say no, nothing personal. I mean nice little cover, but for this film, no way, the original was damn gripping. Again, no offense, but as a fellow musician I have to be honest. It's just totally the wrong feeling, more teen angst than what the films version has. borderline....emo.
Eh. The background beat is rather repetitive, and the voice doesn't really work for the song. It's not quite emotional enough. Still, few enough people even recognise the film, so kudos for the cover.
PFFFFFFF BAD MUSIC... SORRY...
