Here we see and ride onboard the DMU subsition services laid on by NXEA, due to the lack of a 156, which was involved in a crash over a year ago, and is still out of use. We see 47501 + 47810 arrive into Norwich, then 47810 leads the 1732 Norwich - Yarmouth, calling at Brundall, Lingwood, Acle and Great Yarmouth. Then after a quick stop at Gt Yarmouth, we run back with 47501 on the 1817 Great Yarmouth - Norwich, calling at the same stations. Lastly, we see 47810 + 47501 leave the station, ECS for Crown Point.

  • @DRS47501 Cheers Jon :)

  • Why do the "Electrics" click like the do when stationary even though they not "connected" to a supply?

  • @halesworth01 They are electric engines I believe, but powered by diesel

  • I saw that when I was in Norwich on the 2nd August, really thought it was going to form the 1006 to Lowestoft, shame the 153s decided to play right after they changed the platform :( great video btw!

  • @SpotTrains Cheers mate :)

  • @mappman1000 Sorry Mappman i was referencing the NXEA unit which was being hauled by the diesels...maybe someone else could shed some light upon this question please? Why do (full) electric units "click" like this one does in the video when there is no electric supply connected to them? i could understand it if it had been hauling on a long run on the electrified lines as the "clicking" is maybe the drive motors "cooling down" when it pulls into a station?

  • @w0033944 Indeed, thanks for commenting!

  • Nice to see Brush type 4s at Thorpe!

  • @BEZ81022 Cheers mate :)
