Steven Hayes Guilty On 16 Of 17 Counts; Eligible For Death Penalty In Cheshire Home Invasion Case

A jury has found career criminal Steven Hayes guilty of murder and other crimes, including some punishable by death, in the 2007 Cheshire home invasion that led to the deaths of Jennifer Hawke-Petit and her two daughters, Hayley and Michaela.

Shortly after the verdict was read, Dr. William Petit Jr. — the lone survivor of the attack — spoke to reporters on the courthouse steps.

i wish that were true, but in too many cases, people who murder either get a light jail sentence, or no jail sentence at all.  the same people who are all too eager to murder helpless, unborn babies, are the same people who protest against murderers being put to death
