Marie (Natacha Régnier) and Isa (Elodie Bouchez) are two unskilled workers from Lille in Northern France. They are not quite teenagers anymore (they're both 21), but they have now arrived at a crucial point, typical for young adults, where they have to take an important decision about their future life. Isa decides to continue in the same way, although life doesnt seem to offer many perspectives. Marie, after her dream of starting a different kind of life has come to an end, takes the opposite direction

"La vie rêvée des anges" ("The Dream Life of Angels") was written and directed by Erick Zonca in 1998. It has won numerous awards, including the prize for Best Actress for both Natacha Régnier and Elodie Bouchez in the Cannes Film Festival 1998.

The original music of the film is "La Rue des Cascades", by Yann Tiersen.

  • "La Vie rêvée des anges", or in English: "The Dreamlife of Angels". In German the title is "Liebe das Leben", which is, of course, no literal translation. The director is Erick Zonca.

  • Great film. A really good realistic film and well acted. A lot of European films these days seem to focus more on surrealism, nice looking people and other things like American films. I guess its probably a 90´s thing.

  • @Milanjamin thank you!

  • @maggifixmirakel Rue De Cascades - yann tiersen and claire pichet.

  • French people still manage to be fashionable even when they are penniless
