What depresses me is this

Bush and Cheney have done more terrible things to inspire songwriters like Phil than probably even LBJ and Nixon, but where are they? the only thing you hear in music today is rappers talking about guns, sex, and drugs

LIke the CLintons didn't bomb more countrues than Bush did. Like Obama isn't slaughtering Pakistani and Afghani children?

Bush depresses you? What depresses me is your partisan bullshit. Grow a pair and take responsibility for the deadly side effects of globalism meeting the big powerful government you demand as a solution to life's little problems.

Check out Och's "Love me I'm A Liberal." He's talking to you, dimwit/

I assure you that protest music is ALIVE AND WELL. Perhaps it is not as mainstream as it was back in the day, but there is definitely protest music of today. Check out artists like Evan Greer or Andrew Jackson Jihad, and definitely explore the raging punk/hardcore scene

Well thats your problem shut of that rap cap and listen to real music... try a guy named roy zimmerman. and there is a lot of rock bands like bad religion, rage against the machine, rise against, System of a Down... maybe there not like Phil Ochs but they are speaking out.

Thank you SO much! I was in a the U.S. Army when this was recorded. If the date is after August, in a brig! Phil has always been one of my hero's and I miss him terribly.

Phil Ochs was so very much one of my heroes. Used to watch/listen to him perform in the coffeehouses in The Village in the mid-60s and on... I still get a lump in my throat when I think of his suicide.
