This is a fiber optic exhibit designed and fabricated by FOSI, that is located at the Monocacy Battlefield Visitor Center outside of Fredrick Md. It Tells the story of the battle which delayed Confederate forces in their drive to attack Washington DC near the end of the war. In the actual exhibit at the visitor center, computer controlled lighting highlights images mounted on the wall behind the topographic model at specific times during the presentation. The fiber optic light guides embedded in the model show the troop movements, positions, and battle effects all synchronized with a audio narration. If you have the opportunity, you should visit this battlefield and the new visitor center. Much of the battlefield is still as it was in 1864.
