The problem is that THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT ID/CREATIONISM IS DENYING; as evolution makes no claims on the origin of life, just the origin of species (BIG difference there). Evolution itself doesn't say how life was created, so there still could technically have bee a creator to set off the whole thing in motion. For some reason, a good chunk of "personal monotheists" believe that this directly contradicts their god; hence creationism/ID.
