Kogan plays Schubert's Fantasy (1/3)

I seem to recall Heifetz saying something about how difficult it is to play Schubert convincingly or something like that, Id say Mr Kogan is about as convincing as imaginable for a piece like this.

I have uploaded rare out of print and unreleased recordings that are difficult to find, I hope you like them.

Leonid Kogan is very good in this Schubert Fantasy in C based on the great song Sei Mir Gegrusst. Another very good recent performance is by a young man named Kamron with pianist Eduard Laurel 2009. This work has great variety, and different speeds and emphasis bring out different aspects. Commentators should not be too critical and opinionated about varied personal styles. I say for Schubert the more performers and listeners the merrier.

I agree with you. Ovrutsky is amazing in the Schubert Fantasy. However, the youtube recording is only the first third.
