rimlock is caused by a cartridge interrupter that is not working correctly. first chance i got i tested my mosin by intentionally loading it the wrong way (had the top rims behind the bottom ones) and it still cycled just fine- the way it was intended to work. You can repair your interrupter for free or replace it.
