A first attempt at firing the PowerLabs Railgun 3.0 with a Plasma Armature. The projetile was a 2 gram Polycarbonate cube which was fired across the room and through the target, a 1" thick Plywood sheet. No pulse shaping was utilized, leading to a peak current of 3 and a half million amps. The magnetic fied tore all wires off the gun and catapulted the switch, while breech pressure exploded the plug. The gun itself suffered no damage and will fire again, after some modifications.

  • well done, you broke science

  • @sambarros

    Great thanks and good luck.

I think you shold try to make induction gun (tompson coil gun), it is much more effective than railgun wit such caps, I think you can get more than 5kJ kinetic energy in projectile.

  • m... that powerfull xD

  • the same force that shoots the projectile is also pushing the gun apart so it has to be really strong

  • @GaussFanat those caps weight about 125kG a piece! And the song at the beginning is "Kernkraft 400 - Zombie Nation" if memory serves me right...

  • @scratchnsurf Thats when it was ready...

  • wait, you did this at 6:52 in the morning? LOL

  • What was used as the projectile?
