NBA 1999 Eastern Conf. Finals: Knicks at Pacers gm 1 part 1

The 8th seed Knicks take on the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern conference finals in the lockout-Shortened 1998-99 NBA Season. The Knicks looked like they were going to miss the playoffs when they were 21-21, but they turned things around towards the end of the regular season by finishing the regular season 6-2 to end up with a 27-23 record. They beat the Miami Heat in 5 games on Allan Houston's Shot. In the next series, they Knicks swept the Hawks in 4 games to get to this point. The Knicks did not have home court advantage in any playoff series in 1999. The Indiana Pacers beat the Knicks in the 1998 playoffs in 5 games. The Knicks made some amjor changes in the offseason in getting Marcus Camby for Charles Oakley and getting Latrell Sprewell from Golden State for John Starks. The Knicks also aquired Kurt Thomas. As for Indiana, they came into this series not losing a game so far as they swept the Milwaukee Bucks in the 1st round and swept the Sixers in the 2nd round. The Knicks played very well in this game for the most part, but they trailed Indiana 83-79 in the fourth period and they went on a 14-7 run to end the game as the Knicks win this crucial game 1 of this series.

It is in English and by the way, that was a foul on Pippen. It was probably payback for not calling a foul on the Bulls for fouling Charles Smith in 1993.

You're an idiot. Camby was the reason why the Knicks made it into the Finals that year though it is true that his performance in the regular season was crappy. Not to mention that soon after, Charles Oakley's stats dropped dramatically.

thanks for posting this emmanuel. iam a huge knicks fan and it has come to the point where i have to watch games from 1999 to feel good about this team. ugh! hopefully this italian stalian works out but i dont see the knicks being a top team for a while. man these where the days i remember it like it was yesterday. i actually went to game 5 of the nba finals. the game that the spurs won but spree was on fire! thanks again emmanualknicks. put more games from this year if you can!

Hats off to David Stern for getting the teams to play more up-tempo. This is just painful to watch.

He was right abou Ewings achilles I gues he knows big men and injuries.. he was cripple by his third or fourth NBA season.. would have been a great pro but his body wouldt allow his annoying ass.

This was such a great season because it was out of nowhere ..and all of a sudden SPree and Allen cant be stopped and Marcus Camby was blocking everything in sight and jumpinfg higher than any big man I ever seen that season atleast. and yeah bill walton the knicks got a pipe dream like the pipe you used to smoke.. I mean the way the knicks were playing you think he would hav given thems some credit as having a chance to win the series

Same here. It's hard for me to watch anymore. I think what really turned me off for good, was when Jamal was traded. He wasn't shit on defense, but he was fun to watch. Plus, we actually had a good run until him and Zach were traded. And what they did with Steph was dirty. If we had them still, we'd be deep. I guess I just wish the Knicks management was run like the Yankees. They get shit done right!
