Starting the Waddon Steam Engine

This steam pumping engine, built in 1910 and doing 180hp, worked at Waddon pumping station, Croydon, Surrey. You can see its original working place in johnofbristol's youtube-video Last day at Waddon http://www.youtube.com/user/johnofbristol#p/u/14/e-TikFvwMBM . Now the engine is one of the highlights at Kew Bridge Steam Museum, London, see http://www.kbsm.org/exhibits/waddon . The Waddon engine itself runs nearly noiseless, the soundtrack results from the neighbour's (Hathorn Davey triple engine) valve gear.

i love it, i looked at the video of the last of the engine at work in the origonal pumping house and did you notice theres a cat at the begining of that, i think this engine attracts our feline friends hah
