The excitement starts at around 50 seconds if you would like to fastforward to that point.

The Macbook was like this a few weeks after I got it. It got fixed by licensed Apple repair shop and was fine for 3 months after that (they said they had to replace the overheating sensor ... saying the computer thought it was overheating just like in most of the _random_ shutdown cases). As you will see, mine is not very random. The funny thing was.. they called me after 5 days saying they couldn't reproduce the shutdown (probably because they thought they just had to leave it on and "overheat"). I have never had the random shutdown problem. JUST THIS

Now after 3 months, the "bug" has resurfaced its ugly head. I don't see anyone else having this problem and would like to know if anyone else has seen it.

  • Something is loose inside, it's only obvious. 99% of those "in store" repair techs don't know diddly squat about computers. Take it to someone you know who fixes computers at home, they are the good ones.

  • if you ever want to get rid of it ill buy it off you dont destroy it

  • I use Macbooks at school. So he or she just made this up.

  • Well That was a bit of a hard drop. The hard drive's disk. If it gets kind of loss or shake that is what happends. Only to hard drives that doesn't say like air bag etc.....

  • Go macs! 

  • 100% normal : Sudden Motion Sensor... savvy ?

  • yea yr really putting it down gently...ba-boom...but even if you choose to slam it down it shouldn't shut off

  • There might be somthing on a cable like a popcorn kernal inside that when it is dropped it pushes down on the cable and it turns off the computer. that's what was wrong with mine.
