Vizio XVT473SV Blooming demonstration Part 1

This is a short clip of blooming on Vizio's XVT473SV set. This video demonstrates the blooming effect of the local dimming LEDs on this set. Taken in a completely dark room, using Cnet settings (+23 backlight).

I'm using my Panasonic HDC-TM10 HD camcorder which isn't the very best at low-light recording. I hope it's enough detail for you to make things out.

This video is the most extreme example of blooming on a picture that I have found on this set. Otherwise, I really never notice any blooming during normal movie/tv watching or video game playing. In fact, it's the best picture I think I've ever seen on an LCD TV.

Just to be clear, I LOVE this TV. I would recommend it. I just made these videos to demonstrate blooming to people on a forum discussion. The positives of this set FAR outweigh any negatives.

Would you recommend this tv which is back-lit over the edge-lit 42 inch version?

Nice demo. thanks..do you know by any chance which TV sets have minimum blooming? Since i watch a lot of sci fi and most of them have a lot of dark scenes and i watch tv mostly at night.
