Orchestras of this era did not include women; and yet here is Jackie du Pre soloing and clearly outshining all cellists of her era. Well, yes, there's Rostropovich and Casals :)

Jacqueline du Pre is one of the greatest cellists ever... so sad that she died prematurely of MS =( at least she left recordings like these behind.
