Metal Drill Solid

One night I was reading some TTGL fan fiction with my music library on shuffle, when the MGS2 theme came on. As the song continued to play, it started to sync up remarkably well with the story, and thus the seeds of an AMV were planted!

I wanted to make a mock trailer for Gurren Lagann using the Metal Gear Solid theme song, but found myself having a lot of problems deciding what I was going to do. I've approached my last few AMVs with the mentality of making them all as serious business as possible. However for this one, I decided I'd forgo trying to develop any story structure or anything complicated like that, and instead adopt the "explosions fix everything" mentality. I'm very satisfied with how it turned out, and had a lot of fun doing it.

This was also the first time I've played with encoding using x264 instead of XVID. After hours of playing around, and some really crappy renders, I think I've finally got the hang of it.
