This is television history....people dont like Dave as much anymore but the man made break through television broadcasts and at one point was Mr. America.....TV guide listed the Late Show with David Letterman the 5th greatest television show of all time

I love how they used Pride (In The Name Of Love) after they showed the construction workers. Great pride there, reconstructing/renovating the theater for a great show.

I totally agree, but why did Leno win the ratings every single year after 1994? I remember being a teenager and fighting with bro and sis in the summmer when we could stay up late because I wanted to watch Dave and they both wanted to watch Leno. They would laugh at Leno and I couldnt understand why. I thinks Jay;s humor is just simpler

Still amazing that NBC gave the Tonight Show to Jay Leno. Leno's version of the TS was HEAVILY influenced by Letterman. It was an unnatural choice on NBC's part. They f-ed up. Big time. As an entertainer, Leno pales in comparison.

Yeah ... I guess Leno is the dumbed-down version of Letterman. American idiocy is boundless, hence Leno's popularity. Letterman's writers are more intelligent. Leno would never do half the jokes Letterman would. Leno's appeal is to the Budweiser crowd.
But I've lived without a television for about 15 years. So it's not a big deal for me. I see these shows only occasionally.
Tell your brother and sister I called them idiots. Cheers. :)
