This video explains how Obama wishes for bad economic headlines. What is bad for America is good for the democrats. Also, if the economy is so bad than how has Obama raised $400 million? The same day he mocks McCain, Barack goes to a Hollywood fundraiser which cost 27k a plate. Gee, I sure hope the times get better. Barry, you are an IDIOT and your party knows it!!!

  • to the contrary. I'm young and I remember the prosperity in the Clinton years. Every republican president during my lifetime has advocated war and not given a damn about our economy. What has been done to this country by republicans is nothing short of treason. Treason!!

  • Obama got rich under Bush, not Clinton. Republicans are the problem? Do your research on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and see which party has their hands all over the money.. Be honest!!!

  • My question is if Obama thinks McCain is "out of touch" for saying the economy if fundamentally strong then is Obama's platform to say the Economy is terrible?

Maybe Obama should do like Chuck Shummer and send a letter to all foreign investors telling them America can't cover its liabilities and then act suprised when he turns this economic dip into a REAL depression.

Democrats have NO perspective what-so-ever. Look at Carter's admin. that was bad, this is just turbulance.

  • I do not use this word often but, AMEN!

  • I believe that being a law grad is a fundamental to being President, since you understand the true responsibility of government. Look at George Bush in Iraq: no law = no protection for the innocent. Obama taught constitutional law as a professor for 12 years. That's more necessary experience than John McCain and Sarah Palin combined.

  • you and about 5% of the population think so..

  • well, this little debate has been interesting. i need to leave right now, so see ya later. :)

i may disagree with you, but at least you don't yell like most other left wingers. :)

  • the final thing i want to say is that Americans enjoy the highest standards of living, and Americans didn't get that far through socialism, communism, facism, nazism etc.etc. We got there through capitalism. The rich people are usually people who got a good idea, and enough people agreed. Profit motivates innovation, and innovation leads to higher quality lives. If there's money to be made, there will be people willing to work there. Sure, it may seem selfish, but everyone benefits in the end.

  • giving goods and services for free is called charity. and america is the most charitable nation in the world, with people donating tons of money to all four corners of the world. capitalism rewards good ideas. usually, good ideas are shared as products or services. no one works for a poor person. a poor person can't afford to hire anyone, genius. usually, people who inherit wealth dont just retire on the spot. they usually continue the family business or start a new business, benefitting society

  • actually, the people who built it are benefitting because they got paid for building it. and the government benefits due to property tax.

  • Reason: Capitalism doesn't reward the best behaviour. It doesn't reward those who want to give goods and services for free. It doesn't reward those who share ideas. It doesn't reward those who work for the needy instead of the rich (e.g. for children, poor elderly people, seriously disabled people, chronically ill people, people in poor countries, even animals etc.). Also, capitalism, as is, creates a massive un-level playing field by allowing inherited wealth, causing huge power-disparities.

  • Yeah I see your side of the argument, and have done so for some years now. But what do you think of this proposed system: those who behave the most perfectly are bestowed the highest entitlement and minimal interference: those who don't are reasoned with first, and if that fails, have their entitlement reduced to the value of inconvenience they've caused any person. Law says you must describe how you want the world to be, and produce evidence that you are working towards that, to get the max.

  • You can't simply follow the cash trail. You need to look at the net production and provision of goods and services and who it is going to. If somebody acquires a mansion which took 1,000,000 man-hours to build, and keeps it to himself, nobody else is benefitting from those 1,000,000 man-hours except that person, he could have chosen to acquire something that would benefit others too instead.

  • and the surplus was the result of clinton and the republican congress compromising, with the republicans getting more of what they wanted. so in reality, it's the republican congress, NOT clinton, that gave us no debt. bush only drove the debt up because we're fighting the war on terror.

  • people. those people will go out to buy other products, and a good circle starts. america was based on capitalism, with the founding fathers stressing limitied government, and we ended up becoming the strongest and richest country in the world. this little economy thing is also the best way to fix the healthcare crisis. universal healthcare has been a failure everywhere it has been applied.

well, i hope my little monolouge helped you see my side of the arguement. :)

  • left behind aren't usually unlucky. they're just lazy. in a communist society, they probably won't work at all. capitalism may seem like selfishness to a lot of people, but that selfishness (getting more for less) is what makes us strive for innovation, giving companies incentives to lower prices and increase quality of their products or services. the winning companies expand, and the people get the best products. the company getting higher revenues will also allow the companies to hire more
