Footage of our resident Pipistrelle bat population that inhabit our cavity wall for a few weeks at the end of May/begining of June each year. The bats circle in a very spectacular fasion near the roost entrance for about 20 mins just before dawn. This video shows edited highlights of a one hour period between 3:30 and 4:30 am on Sunday 31-5-09. You can see many bats landing and clinging to the wall before shuffling in to the gap between the facia board and the wall. Some fail to land and go round for another go, others seem to enter just above the camera, but even taking the uncertainties there is at least 30 seen to enter the roost.

  • Awesome. I love bats, such intriguing yet very cute lil critters. We get them around my house a lot. They don't cause any harm.

  • Bat-tastic!!!
