Ok, even if you are a military veteran. Shut up and enjoy the damn commercial. These commercials are meant to be funny and not taken so seriously. Get a clue.
Oh please. The commercial is a spoof and they are making it clear that calling them "heroes" IS ridiculous. The guy in these spots always comes across as goofy. They are NOT seriously claiming these guys are heroes. I have nothing but respect for those who have served, suffered, and died for their country...as well as others who risk their lives for their communities. (I have been a firefighter and faced personal danger.) No one is going to watch this ad and see carpet cleaners as heroes.
It is insulting to all Military and others that have risked their lives to save others and yet, here, stanley demeans the reverence by comparing carpet cleaners to real heroes.
Are you that inconsiderate to continue to deface the real heroes like the firemen, police, soldiers, and others by demeaning them to the level of a carpet cleaner.
You have done an injustice and show your complete disregard for the respect that the term "Hero" actually means.
I'm a retired Army veteran and I thought this ad was horrible! It tells me that Stanley Steemer could care less about those who gave their lives, or came home mentally and physically scarred for life after defending this country. Those are the heros who keep this country
safe for them to perform their heroic act of vacuuming dirty carpets and creating ridiculous advertisements in. I can't believe that none of the big corporate execs pulled the plug on this ad! That obviously means that they totally agree with its content. Stanley Steemer will never step foot in my house unless they pull this ad and issue a national apology! (for lack of stronger words) Shame on them!
I personally think that Stanley Steamer is wrong in using the word Hero in their ads! In fact, I dislike it so much that I voted with my wallet, and went with their competitor! I am sure all the military and police and fire fighters that see that ad are instantly turned off by it!
