  • "The Greeks and the Romans ...are gone; other people have sprung up and held their torch high for a time but it burned out, the Jews saw them all, survived them all; all things are mortal but the Jew; all other forces passed, but they remain. What is the secret of the Jews immortality?"

    Mark Twain 1898

Well that's fine then. You aren't Turkish and I'm not Greek. Byzantium didn't cease to exist centuries ago any more than Rome ceased to exist. They are still there. Changing a name doesn't wipe a place out nor it's heritage. Of course being a johnny cum lately yank you think everything started in 1492 or maybe when the Mayflower dropped anchor.

You would be just the kind of schmuck who said in 1945 that Israel ceased to exist centuries ago.

    Some 'dreamer' resurrected Israel

  • @Hypoguest "They got rid you:? you who? ....I am not Turkish nor do I care to listen to the rantings of some little Greek psycho dreamer.

Byzantium ceased to exist centuries ago and it is now Istanbul, care to look on a map? Why don't you just take your meds so that you can read and get your history right.

  • @Hypoguest Why don't you take this up with the Turkish Prime Minister? And after some 650 years of existence, Turkey is not going anywhere and Istanbul is Istanbul the largest TURKISH city. The vestiges of Byzantium's glorious PAST are there for the tourists and historians to admire and research.

Byzantium fell in 1453! You should get used to it by now.

How can he Turks be "occupying" their own land? Are you for real?

  • @Hypoguest Seems like you're a hateful nut case, I feel sorry for you. Who gives 'them weapons" and what about accepting the Turks into Europe? What the FUCK are you talking about?

However if Cyprus was accepted in the European Union, when it is NOWHERE near Europe and in NO way shape or form "Europe" ...then maybe Turkey which does have territory in EUROPE should then be accepted into the European Union, don't you think? "Byzantium" get a history book written after 1453!

  • @rogercerd61 : The Palestinians have every right to be there as they have been for over 2,000 years.

Why should they be uprooted and sent away?

Inheritance my ass! if that is the case then we must all pack our bags, go back to Europe and give the land back to the Native Americans.

Zionism is a pipe dream based on a 5,000 year old myth.

  • Personally I'll keep insulting people who believe in religions intelligence.
