Yea bullshit, i own one of these, the fans are easily blocked i mean they have no cover so if you sit this on your lap it wont do shit because your pants will stop them, even on a flat surface if your netbook/laptop has any weight (using netbook) it will push the fans onto the surface and stop them from spinning. The leds look good but the fan will stop working randomly, the first day i got it the middle one broke and the two side ones hardly work.... don't buy trust me.

@clownytheclownster Putting a laptop with this pad on your lap I agree if u are wearing loose type clothing it will interfere with the fans but you should have no problem with this pad on a flat surface. I have a 15 in laptop and it has weight to it....my fans still spins. And about the leds if u don't mingle with the cords it won't stop working.
